I've seen the town of Preston on the local news recently because of their involvement in the LLWS. They had a little profile on the town, I think they said the population is something like 5000. It's located on the Eastern Shore, about an hour and a half from me as far as I can tell. The entire shore (with the exception of Ocean City) is a very rural area and is pretty much the definition of small town living. A friend of mine from college grew up in a town pretty close to Preston called Denton. Once during the summer I went to visit her at her parents house and the final bit of directions she gave me said that once I was on her road it was the "fourth house on the left." Well, growing up in the suburbs of Baltimore, the fourth house on the left isn't very far down. But I swear I was on that country road for about five miles. Then she asked me if I wanted to go to Target with her brother, and I said sure. We were in the car for about forty-five minutes when I asked where Target was and she said "Dover, Delaware." I commented on how small her town was and she got kind of indignent and said, "we have a blockbuster AND a pizza hut!"

Anyway, I've never been to Preston and I never even heard of it until I saw it on the news for the LLWS.
