They're divorced. Apparently they showed Castle's ex-wife/Alexis' mother in one ep last season. I missed it, but my husband and daughter said she was VERY flaky.

Another thing I like is that Nathan Fillion � who's apparently in his late 30s or very early 40s � is depicted as the father of a teenage girl. To me, that seems like a pretty "normal" age difference between a parent and child. I get tired of shows in which men in their 40s are depicted as the fathers of infants/toddlers and teenagers are shown as having parents in their 50s or 60s. I mean, yes, I do realize there are *some* families out there like that, but I think it's a lot more common for people to become parents in their 20s.
