Subject: Frasier question

I watched both "Cheers" and "Frasier" occasionally — enough to know who all the main characters are — but was never a regular viewer of either show.

For some reason, I'm wondering how "Frasier" ended? Did it end with Frasier's son (the one he had with Lilith; can't remember the kid's name) following in his grandfather's footsteps and becoming a police officer?

I always thought that would be the most sensible way for it to end, because those sort of things (like varying between blue collar and white collar professions) so often skip a generation. But maybe the kid wasn't old enough to join the police force at the end of the series.
