Subject: A funny thing regarding "Star Trek:the Next Generation"

We've occasionally caught episodes of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" over the years, depending on what time it came on, what else was going on in our lives, etc. Right now it's coming on every night at 10 p.m. here, so we watch it a couple of times a week.

Bob always teases me (in a nice way) about the fact that my favorite character is Spot, Data's cat. I just like that they have a nice cat on the show, because cats are so often portrayed as "evil" in movies and TV shows. He's always saying, "The cat is NOT an integral part of the show."

Well, last night's episode had Spot in it early on, then they started having problems on the holodeck and I kind of dozed off. When I woke up I asked him what had happened and he said, "Um, it was all the cat's fault. He'd stepped on a bunch of computer keys while Data was programming the adventure."

So, at least once, the cat WAS integral part of an episode!
