Our VCR is broken. At least the "recording" part. We can still use it to watch pre-recorded tapes, but can't tape shows. That means I either have to watch shows in real time (not always possible) OR watch them a couple of days later over the internet. And, somehow, watching the shows on the computer screen by myself just isn't the same thing as sitting on the couch with my family and watching them on TV. So, if I can't catch them in real time, I usually don't bother.
