Here's a brief recap: Gibbs and the gang were called out because a Navy officer was on the ledge of a skyscraper, threatening to jump. They had almost got him talked in when he was shot by a sniper. So, naturally, they investigated the murder. It turned out the officer had ultra-high clearance and was involved in intelligence work in the Middle East. He was also from a wealthy family and had recently seprated from his wife, so there were a multitude of motives. . .money (although I never really got that one because he didn't seem to have a lot of money of his own, he just had wealthy parents) jealousy (if either he or his wife had a lover) and, of course, his spy stuff. It turned out his wife was a deep cover mole who'd married him in order to have access to his files and then had messed with some of his medications to drive him to the brink of suicide, then had shot him when it seemed he was on the verge of confessing everything to NCIS.
