I know--this really has made me wonder. What I think is that they are in a future (a parallel) universe but not one that is the logical one for what they left? Ben said they couldn't leave and I suspect next season's flashbacks will tell us a little more.

My thoughts and questions are these.

1. Why is Jack taking oxycontin?
2. According to EW Charlie is the one who died. That rather irritates me as I liked Charlie. I did watch the answers episode prior to the finale but they didn't really say anything about this either way.
3. What statue? Phooey, I missed that.
4. Jacob--we heard him talk. Maybe he tried to leave and came back only to leave his body somewhere else? Is that what Ben meant when he said they couldn't leave? But if they couldn't leave, how could they go pick up people like Juliet?
5. I don't think Locke can help Jacob unless he becomes a body for Jacob. Maybe jacob is stuck in a hatch we haven't seen yet.
6. I don't know who's coming and I too wondered about how Penny could be on the screen. Then I also wondered if she wasn't part of the Dharma--a second generation sort of thing.
7. How many other baddies can they write into the story? Not unless the Dharma folks can come back as spirits. I can't say that I miss the bad "others" guys who were killed in the explosion.
8. If Kate is in another life, she might not have her initial criminal past. As for being married--my bet is on Sawyer but then maybe it's to a new character we haven't met yet? We know it isn't Jack. I hope it isn't Ben!

I will be watching again as we have been told by the two who were on the "Answers" episode that we will have all the pieces of the puzzle by the end of the show.
