WE had an ad here where this little 2 yr old boy in a nappy, gets in a small 4 wheel drive car with his surf board and drives off down the highway with his hair streaming back, all cool and cute. The ad is for the car. Then he sees a little nappy-clad girl hitchhiking on the side of the road. He picks her up and they go to the beach. She sits and watches him surf then they sit on the bonnet of the car and watch the sun go down over the waves. He puts his arm around her. It's so cute but all these whingeing do gooders complained about it being an encouragement for 2 yr olds to get in the car and drive. So they put it off the air. Lots of people were upset that a handful of idiots could be such wet blankets. So now it is back on but is cut very short and he just surfs and then they sit on the car and watch the sun go down. I thought it was a good ad. There are too many moral police these days....adults putting adult themes and thoughts onto little kids. LIke they banned Fat Cat from TV coz he didn't wear pants. And he was fat so that probably offended all the fat people. It's a bit ridiculous. One of our children's shows that has been running for 40 yrs has had a political correct makeover and now they no longer sing Baa Baa Black Sheep. It is now Baa Baa Wooly Sheep. It's just like they don't have Ernie and Bert sharing the same room on Sesame Street any more. My kids won't watch the new revamped shows. They watch ABC digital just so they can see the old Play School, Sesame Street and Teletubbies. Yeah, I wonder who can tell me the political correct reason the rabbits are no longer on Teletubbies. NO doubt there is one but most of us aren't warped enough in the head to think of it.

Another ad is for DVDs. The bloke goes to get a DVD and takes the dog with him on a lead. He only gets to the front gate where he opens the mail box and takes out a DVD that has been sent to him by his broadband provider. He goes back inside and the dog isn't happy about missing its walk.
