I just saw episode 3 of the new Dr Who series. I have not been so excited for such a long time .....I think since I was a teenager.... about an up coming ep of a TV show. I have been hanging out all week for this ep with Sarah And K-9 and I was not disappointed. In fact I should have and would normally have been apprehensive about such a revisitation of the past but for some reason apprehension never entered my head. I have been so looking forward to this ep and it was so so good. I am still smiling although I also feel sad. I cried at the end and for some reason am still crying. It finished about half an hour ago. I am hiding it from my hubby who will try and commit me to a mental institution if he finds out. I feel they did this ep so well. They really could have stuffed it right up but it was fantastic. Poor Sarah. Before the ep aired I told my kids what the problem would be. I said to them at that all the Dr's companions left of their own free will. They had something they wanted more than travelling with the Dr. But for Sarah....she was dumped. She didn't get it or him out of her system...... and lo and behold, that was the main theme to this ep. She looks really great for an old girl of 58 and I thought that it would look wierd for her to be back with the doctor, her being so old and him looking so young, but during the ep the age thing became irrelevant and it was the Dr and Sarah all over again. And I really hope that I can still run that far and that fast at 58. Hard up doing it now to be truthful, LOL. And old K-9 was a hit as usual. Nice twist at the end. I am all tingly with nostalgia as Sarah was always my favourite by far and I couldn't have asked for a better reunion ep. HOpe you enjoy it as much as I did BDM and anyone else who is or was as hooked on this show as I was and am....for this ep at least.

I have been wondering why people like us get all gushy over TV shows. 'specially old ones. For me, I know that I was fortunate to have had a great childhood that I fondly look back on, but there were issues [not overly serious looking back, but seemed serious at the time] that made me escape into books and TV. More than was probably healthy. I think things like this make me feel all nostalgic and give me a feeling of security and safety that I now no longer have in my overly responsible and stressful real life.

Anyway, getting off the shrink couch, I hope, BDM, that you see this ep soon and please tell me what you think of it. I really really loved it and will definitely get the DVD single of it.
