Subject: NCIS takes quite a jump in the ratings
In reply to: Islandgirl 's message, "Season four of "NCIS" (some vague spoilers)" on 09:46:52 10/04/06 Wed

The episode of "NCIS" that aired on Oct. 3 was the eighth most watched show last week, according to the just-released Nielsen ratings. It took quite a jump; it hadn't even been in the top 20 for the first two eps of the season and this past week it was a top ten show.
My guess as to why that is. . .a lot of viewers were probably checking out some of the new shows during the first couple of weeks of the new TV season, secure in the knowledge that "NCIS" wasn't going anywhere and that -- since the episodes are generally self-contained -- they could catch the eps they missed in reruns later on. But now that the novelty of the new shows has worn off, they're returning to old faves like "NCIS".
