I watched last night and actually the episode was really good. It also reminded me of a good XFiles kind of show. Bones mother had been killed, her father had escaped and has been watching out for his two kids. There had been a FBI conspiracy of some sort resulting in killing an agent who uncovered it and had evidence which he had put away. Of course there was a major cover-up and another FBI agent who also knew about it and was wrongfully sentenced for killing the agent. Bones and the institute autopsied the dead FBI agent, disproving the original cover-up autopsy.

Her parents were (supposedly) bank robbers who were looking for the evidence in a bank safety deposit box. I suspect they were working under cover for some agency, Anyhow, there is or was a conspiracy of some sort which is slowly being unraveled. Her father has been keeping an eye on Bones and her brother, and was responsible for executing two crooked FBI agents who were working to kill his kids because they thought the kids had the evidence which would uncover the conspiracy and send them to jail.

It's one of thoses on-going themes besides the typical stand alone episodic ones. I really do enjoy the show and hope that we do find out more about her parents.

Thanks for the Showtime info--I might watch or try to watch one episode although like you, the topic isn't really my cup of tea either!
