NCIS was Number One last week!

"NCIS", which is my only current "must see" TV show, was the top show last week, according to the Nielsen ratings.
Yay!!! Way to go, NCIS!
Granted, it was the week right before Christmas, generally one of the least-watched weeks of TV during the year. And, yes, everyting else was a rerun. But NCIS was a rerun, too, and it still grabbed the top spot.
Maybe "NCIS" will start getting a little more respect now. It seems to be sort of the Rodney Daingerfield of TV shows. Despite nearly always being in the top 20 every week year round (most NCIS eps actually have higher viewerships during reruns than they do in their original airings) the cast of the show is rarely featured on magazine covers, talk shows, etc.
I think this is also probably the first time in my life that my favorite show has also been the top-rated show in America. I generally tend to like "cult hits" like XF or "Dark Angel" rather than mega-popular shows. Guess my tastes are becoming more pedestrian in middle age.
