Marwan gets away cause those after him are so bad at trying to catch him. After he ran off with the football info, he was in the middle of the desert in a jeep with a heliocoptor on his tail & he still got away!!!! They say we listen for Osama's cell phone calls in Afghanistan but yet Marwan makes calls in the US & openly discusses bombs & his minions call him by name on the phone!!!!

I think David Gergin worked for both Rep & Dem administrations. There are those who are just consultants & have no party loyalty. But for sure, Palmer coming in to help is like Clinton coming to help Cheney. They said Palmer was a Democrat in S1 so this administration must be Republican. Where is the cabinet? Why is the VP relying on 2 advisors when he should have an army of them around?

The torture issue is becoming very interesting. Will they actual address this by the end or just ignore it. CTU & Jack have tortured several people this season & most of them were innocent(Paul, the framed CTU girl, Heller's hippie son). But yet the "ends justify the means" argument is used to brush that aside. Although the Amnesty Global (International) guy wasn't a total jerk, he was seen as a terrorist dupe & he seemed to know it. I like how he was at CTU with a Federal Marshall & a court order within 20 minutes of the arrest at around midnight! (when he's supposed to be at home in New York with his converted Jewish bride in Sex and the City).

I'm sure Fox News is ok with torture. In this show, it almost always yields results. In real life, doubtful. One would confess to anything to make the pain go away, if you were trying to prevent the stopping of an operation you'd stall by making up a false story. When Jack threatened a suspect's child, maybe that would work but I doubt we would sanction that at our worst. The Abu Gharib & Guantanamo torture cases aren't much about getting info as soldiers having sick fun humiliating prisoners. The worst Jack has in store is that he'll lose his new girlfriend whom he should have had leave the room as he tortured her husband.
