Subject: "NCIS" season finale -- SPOILERS

YOW!!! Is Cait really dead?? I mean really, truly dead; not "Mulder dead" or "Krycek dead" or the way virtually everybody who "died" on "The X-Files" was dead??
It was a good ep, and the previews had warned us that one member of the team would die, but I didn't expect it to be her. I figured it would be either Tony or McGee. Not that I *wanted* it to be Tony or McGee. I didn't want it to be anybody, because I really like al the characters.
This is, apparently, a bad month to be a female federal agent on CBS. First FBI Agent Terry Lake just sort of "disappeared" from "Numb3rs" now Cait is killed on "NCIS". But I will give the producer of NCIS credit for assuming his viewers are intelligent enough to notice that one of the main characters has left the series. The thinking of the "Numb3rs" producers seems to be that they could eliminate the female lead without any explanation whatsoever and that the viewers simply won't pick up on it.
NCIS still has a strong female character in lab rat Abby Scuito, but I'm going to miss Cait.
