Was the first show with real people (as opposed to cartoons) that I ever watched on a regular basis as a child. Like you, det, I watched it in reruns every afternoon when I got home from school.
Do you know that when the creator of "Gilligan's Island" first pitched his idea to network execs, he envisioned something a lot more like "Lost"?? Well, no supernatural elements, but he wanted to do a serious drama about people from various socio-economic levels stranded on a desert island. The execs liked the basic "island" idea, but persuaded him to change it ot a comedy.
