Yes, they certainly stick in your mind forever and ever. I believe it has been at least 25 yrs since I heard that theme and yet it's embroidered onto my brain forever.

I have never thought about the lack of theme songs now. Perhaps it is also a sign that theme songs are now considered a bit daggy in this supposedly sophisticated TV era. The only TV shows of ours that have theme songs is the daggy night time soaps like Neighbours and Home and Away. All of our other shows just have music and only one sticks in your mind but is still un hummable. Not much tune to any of them. Interesting.
