Subject: 24 hates women, doncha know

I love me some 24, but it does bug me the way women are portrayed. Either they are dumb and incompetent (Kim), or if they're blessed with intelligence they use it for evil (Nina, Sherry) or they are incapable of interacting with people with any grace (Chloe). If it wasn't for my girlfriend Michelle who was lucky enough to be intelligent, competent, socially mature, courageous, and good-hearted (on top of being gorgeous) I'd have no hope for the future of 24 women. Do any of these writers have wives? Because I know none of the writers are women. If they do have wives, I shudder to think of the state of their marriages if this is how they view women.

Ok, I'm stepping down off my feminist pedastel so I can talk about the episode.

Tony!! My friend and I were speculating on who Jack was going to call. My money was on Palmer or Chloe. I knew Tony was coming back, but I thought it would be later in the season. I know we only saw him for a hot second, but he looked fantastic! In the previews for next week it looks like he's lost some of his weight from last year, and he's back to sporting the season one soul patch. I love him so much! I didn't even realize I missed him until I saw him there saving the day. So where's Michelle? Off being the bread-winner, I'd imagine, since Tony is just sitting at home in the middle of the day. Maybe he's the stay at home dad! Oh that would be FANTASTIC. But how did he find a babysitter in the five minutes it took him to get to Jack? How did he avoid jail? Did Palmer pardon him? Will that be addressed? Also, I love it that Jack has Tony's number saved in his cell phone. Do you think they get together for beers when Jack is in L.A. on business?

I love the Behrooz and Terror Family plotline. I'm so bummed for Behrooz, he never should have called his mom. Of course, she tried to do the right thing. I knew that character would have some sort of twist, since I've read interviews with Shohreh Aghdashloo where she said she always said she'd never play a terrorist until she heard what was in store for the character. I love the parallel between the Sec Defense and the Terror Dad though, and the way they're willing to sacrifice their sons for their respective causes.

Unless there turns out to be some sort of major twist with Aisha Tyler's character (WHAT is her name?), I am going to be majorly annoyed with that entire plotline. WHY do we need another mole? I think it's high time to do some more thorough background investigations at CTU. HONESTLY.
