CTU is just finding out that Driscoll's daughter committed suicide, and everyone is shocked and Heller tells Driscoll she should go home but she wants to stay because she's strong like that. Then they're in a meeting and she keeps spacing out until she excuses herself. Then Heller, Tony, and Driscoll are up in her office talking about what needs to be done and Driscoll collapses. Heller tells her to go home and tells Tony they need to find someone to run CTU. Tony is all, "Dude, forget the fact that I committed treason and up until five hours ago I was a drunk. I used to run this joint! Put me in, coach!" So Heller tells him he will be in charge of CTU until they get a suitable replacement from division. Then there is a really nice scene between Driscoll and Heller where he gives her come comfort about her daughter. Then Driscoll walks out, never to be seen again.

Meanwhile, Jack and Paul find out that Marwan used to work for the same company that manufactured the override and Paul helped set up their tech system so he goes to help. On their drive over Paul tells Jack that he's going to fight for Audrey and that he's not going to let Jack take her from him. Just as I'm thinking about how romantic it is when men talk about women like they're possessions, Jack tells him that whatever happens is Audrey's decision.

It turns out that this company (McClellan Forrester?), in addition to Marwan, has had some shady dealings with terrorists, selling arms and such, and they're afraid of being found out. So while Jack and Paul search the computers for something to do with Marwan, the corporate suits set off some sort of electrical impulse bomb that will fry anything electric and scramble phone lines. Tony tries to call Jack but he can't get through so he uses some nifty government run Instant Messager and figures out what is going on. Paul finds some document that is encrypted and he prints it out and takes off but the suits catch him. The electrical impulse thing pretty much blacks out all of L.A. and there is a cool shot of all the lights going out over the city.

CTU isn't affected, apparantly, so they're still up and running. Heller tells Tony that they got a replacement to run CTU. Tony is all, "that was fast," and Heller says, "We really appreciate what you've done for us and we'd like you to stay and assist Ms. Dessler," Tony makes a face of disbelief and says, "Who?" And Heller says, "Michelle Dessler. Do you know her?" Tony looks horrified and says, "I used to be married to her." Then he turns around and watches Michelle walk into CTU like a rock star surrounded by her entourage. She doesn't see him though. She has straight hair now which isn't as flattering as her curls, but she still looks like she could kick some ass.
