Power rankings for each season will be displayed
at the halfway point for each season.

Here are the 2018 Power Rankings as of week 6:

1. Carteret (6-0). Carteret's been steamrolling throughout the league since winning a tough 27-24 decision week 1 at rival North Buncombe. However, they had to literally fight for their lives against 0-6 Molson in week 6, beating them in overtime 33-27. A game like that can really hurt a team, especially since they're losing Ervin Barker and Chris Ally for awhile. It's gonna be tough for the Ramblers in the second half, especially since they're facing the streaking Misfits. The Ramblers' offense is one of the best that's been seen in quite a few seasons, and Dennis Byrd is easily y the first half MVP.

2. Guadalajara (5-1). What a defense this team has going so far this year. Their offense appears not to be running on all cylinders, but their defense has more than made up for it, giving up a league low by far 44 points. Defense wins championships according to the old football quote, but remember, offense helps. If the offense clicks in the second half, expect Guadalajara to get another trip to the Powell Bowl.

3. Bay City (4-2). Impressive record for the Bruisers so far. They were quite impressive in racking up their four victories, but they've also had two very tough losses.
If Bay City looks past their huge 38-7 loss to New Mexico,
they could contend for the division title. Jeff Wabbington's
done nicely in a backup roll, even filling in when Jameson Shear went out early.

4. Muhlenberg (4-2). This is basically a tie for the #3 spot, as Muhlenberg's defense has done great in stopping opposing teams from scoring. Their offense, like Guadalajara's, is suspect, but they looked really good in beating North Buncombe. Like Guadalajara, if the defense holds up and the offense starts clicking, look out for this team.

5. Bay of Plenty (4-2). This really hasn't been the best season Buddy Dribble's had, but this team has shown enough enthusiasm and will to win to be at 4-2. Jacob Lockhart was a good pickup for Bay of Plenty and has helped their offense when Dribble's been struggling, and their defense, for the most part, has kept the Bushwhackers in the game.

6. High Point (3-3). The Monuments have not even come close to matching last season's performance, but Chris Weinke's still proving to be one of the top QBs in the league. However, losing Keith Yeary for a long time really hurts this team, as opposing defenses have started to key in on Mark Cutter. The Monuments' defense also has struggled bigtime, and it's not a good sign for a team that made it to the Powell Bowl last season. They need to start get their act together if they want to make it back to the post season.

7. New Mexico (3-3). Hasn't been a great followup season for the Regulators so far. QB Ash Tinnin has been criticized bigtime in New Mexico for his lackluster performances, and after his TERRIBLE game week 5, fans have called for his head. However, in week 6, turnovers went their way and they took advantage of them like High Point did the week before.
I don't know if New Mexico will make it back to the post season, and Phill Bennett has said that he's looking to rebuild eventually, but New Mexico SHOULD fight for a playoff spot right down to the last week if they stop turning the ball over.

8. Dan Marino (3-3). Dan Marino Jr. was not been the replacement for Ed Crowe that the Misfits need. A guy that wasn't even invited to anybody's training camp seems to be. Tod Pore has been an impressive leader in building the Misfits three game winning streak, and they go into Carteret week 7 for what should be an offensive war. If the Misfits knock Carteret off at home, then they basically will become the biggest threat to the Wild Card, or even the division title the EMWC division has seen in awhile.

9. Tijuana (2-4). Jason Kanell has had nowhere near the success his father had in leading the Chiahuahuas, and GM/Coach Pat Sicher is starting to show frustration with the young quarterback. In an odd decision, Sicher has elected not to go with expensive backup Cary Broughton, instead going with rookie Ira Lenny. Even though Tijuana's won a Powell Bowl recently, their struggles in finding the next Danny Kanell is legendary. Could Ira Lenny be the answer to Tijuana's QB problem? Stay tuned.

10. Mechanicsville (1-5). With the exception of two games, the Mechanicsville defense has played great. Their offense though... is offensive. They can't seem to move the ball, and when they finally do it, a turnover usually kills the drive. Turnovers and other offensive struggles has this team at this point 1-5 instead of 4-2. Ednesto Niemet was bombed in a start last season, but do not be surprised if Niemet is handed the reigns of the offense shortly as Mechanicsville struggles to get some offensive power going.

11. North Buncombe (1-5). This team is #8 in both offense and defense, but has shown flashes of brilliance on the offensive end of the ball. Jackie Powers has done an excellent job behind center this season, no doubt about that. Jeremy Fullbright, former OL and head coach/GM of the Blackhawks has acknowledged a problem with the offensive line, as Choo Choo Baya has struggled to get yardage on the ground. They may also need secondary help as they are 11th in the league in pass defense. They may also need a little bit of luck as they lost some pretty tough games.

12. Molson (0-6). For awhile it looked like Molson was just going through the motions and just showing up at games instead of doing anything. But a game like they had against the Ramblers just may be the spark this team needed. It was a tough loss to the Ramblers, but the Canadians deep down know they have the talent to at least be spoilers. This team isn't even close to being .500, and Casey Evans still has a lot of work to do on this ball club, but expect them to play the part of spoilers, maybe even taking a few people out with injuries along the way.
