Subject: Tuesday night.....looking better

Hi everyone,

Better news tonight. Caelin has made several improvements. She is breathing much better, her white count is low, and there is no fever.....so far no pnemonia. She has been getting oxygen and nebulizer treatments and they have helped a lot. She has respiratory therapy every six hours which helps a lot. Most of all, she became a new girl after the two walks she took today. She needs a lot of help for sure, but she does great. Her attitude and outlook seem a little brighter. She even used her Game Boy and did some coloring.

Dr. Gearhart is right on top of everything. He is a riot! When we looked at her incision today, we all looked twice. He sewed a real button on top of her steri-strips to show where her old "belly button" was! He never told us! The nurses were hysterical. This is the first time they had seen this. He kept telling us that he wasn't pleased that surgically she didn't have a lot of "cornbread" to work with on her belly to make a larger belly button. I guess he decided to giver her a big one on his own accord. He is the best!

Things are looking up. Keep the prayers coming!
