Details? Let's see. Those not attending missed a great evening. Octoberfest is being celebrated in Buffalo as well as in Munich. Hofbrauhaus was already well attended by patrons by our 6:00 starting time. The Lederhosen clad band was oompahing away. The Mezzanine level was reserved for Canisius. It was packed. Some were surprised to learn it was a no cost event for those who attended. Tickets were handed out for first drinks free. A lot of Octoberfest beer was flowing in Steins. The food was very good. The company was even better. A lot of post-covid catching up was evident. President Steve and Bill Maher were working the room as were the three coaches. At 8:00 we were directed to a large room off the Mezzanine where the coaches and an M.C. who interviewed them told us about their upcoming seasons. Well done and interesting. There is a lesson to be learned by those who decided not to attend: Don't miss the Open Practice on October 10th at Koessler.

that's all well in good, but did anybody learn anything about the 3 teams that where at the function regarding any rumors about any team, the 13th ship for basketball, how new players are looking for men's and women's bball, it seems the softball coach should be invited considering her great last season, and recent ncaa appearance

It should be a good time.

Basketball should do the sane.

Canisius Hockey Supporters,

Tuesday, October 3rd at 12:00 Noon, the Christiano Family is sponsoring our 5th Annual Hockey Leadership Lunch at The Left Bank and we hope you can join us.

With the start of the academic year upon us and hockey season right around the corner, we would like to take this opportunity to thank those supporters who have made the growth of our program possible and to hear from our coaching staff about the upcoming season.

We hope you are able to join us as we thank the donors who have helped make the championship difference in our program.

Basketball did for years until Parotta trashed the Cage Club. BfloGriff has posted here a few times for volunteers to resurrect the Cage Club. No takers to date. Perhaps in the President Steve era enthusiasm will return and it could happen.

Yes, we know that Tom killed the Cage Club. What he was trying to do was to generate funds for the program. Unfortunately, he underestimated the power of the Canisius & WNY culture. Very loyal fans who have expectations at a price which they can afford. Tom's price point for the Coaches Circle was way too high. It would be great if the school could do something like the Cage Club again. Great people & lots of wonderful memories. Cheers for a great season. Go Griffs!

What was Tom's minimum donation for Coaches Circle? What is the current price? What price would you recommend instead?

Bona is at $7500 minimum, which includes a lot of benefits (and I believe two tickets to every game). Many schools are $1,000 - $2,500 at the lowest level in addition to season tickets.

I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything, but I want to better understand the right price and the problems.

Dennis Misko would be the guy to talk to. He did lots of work and generated a strong following / contributors. $7,500 we would struggle to get folks to pay that much money up front. Bona has done a great job of making basketball part of the brand of the school. We haven't and need to. Today Canisius signed Trevor Large the men's hockey coach to a long term contracted. This makes sense and we need to do the same with other coaches for certain sports. I'll leave it at that for now. Go Griffs!
