Lyons is planned for a total renovation after the insurance and FEMA money rolled in.

Canisius probably can't afford the Medaille campus, but let's not exaggerate how difficult things are either.

President Steve is quoted in the final edition of the Griffin at the end of the last academic year as saying they we're "reimagining" Lyons Hall. The blizzard damage turns out to be making lemons into lemonade. As for the Medaille campus that will probably sell to a developer for a ton of money. Imagine tall apartments overlooking Delaware Park. Also, where from and when will we get an enrolment sufficient to make those buildings necessary? As things are now, IMO, we have the space we need to develop the campus. Imagine an Events Center, A/K/A/ "field house" on steroids, on the former parking ramp parcel, or perhaps across E. Delavan in place of or in addition to a refurbished and reimagined Health Sciences building after its function is removed to the Science Hall. Also the Mount St. Josephs parcel where Lyons Hall sits has a lot more space for building. We can also build up as well as out. Let's fasten our seat belts and let the creative juices flow.

.You are wrong. Lyons will not be restored by the school. Insurance proceeds to be allocated elsewhere.

So, are they going to just let it rot into its perimeter fencing ?

They’re going to fix Lyons Hall.

Of course they are. What would it cost to demolish it? What would it cost to build a replacement? Yikes!
