President Steve has a unique background in college athletics, especially for a University president. His Strategic Plan for CU has as one of his goals, "Leverage athletics and recreation to support an engaging and vibrant student experience". That sounds like he means it both for participants and student fans. From what has appeared in what's been written about him, he gets if about the importance of sports in attracting students and growing enrollment. BG thinks we'll see stronger funding for Griffs sports, including better recruiting budgets.

Women’s Volleyball was looking good, then we lost our excellent coach. Both soccer teams have struggled but this year’s’ women’s team had a good season with a pretty young team. Both cross country teams did pretty well.
