You build your brand by leveraging your assets.

Canal side has nothing to do with our brand nor does the City of Buffalo. We're not playing for the Chamber of Commerce.

I agree we need to continue to freshen our brand.

Perhaps the best place to start is to build off our Jesuit heritage. This is your point of difference.

Marquette, Gonzaga, Georgetown, Loyola, Creighton, Boston College all have done a great job of building their brand around this. At one time in the late 50's, 60's & 70's our school brand was included in the mix with these schools.

Times changed and like everything else you need to manage & lead with change vs. trying to just maintain.

We will never be able to catch up to athletic programs but we can cultivate energy around the brand.

We have a NEW logo look to add some of these elements to the uniform or floor.

The logo includes Canisius’ traditional colors of blue and gold (please not yellow), and utilizes a shield, which has a long history with illustrious academic institutions.

Perched atop the shield is the legendary Griffin, the mythological king of birds and beasts and the official mascot of Canisius since 1933.

The seven stripes link to the coat of arms of the family of St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order. The cross represents Canisius’ Catholic, Jesuit identity

Last but not least add gold back to our uniform selection.

We are Canisius the Golden Griffins.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the local media or newspaper. The newspaper is not the paper all of us read 20 + years ago. The world has moved on to digital not print.

Canisius needs to dial up their digital sports footprint but winning cures everything.

Go Griffs!

How in the world have Marquette, Georgetown, Gonzaga, BC, etc. built their brand around the "Jesuit tradition"??? People couldn't care less about the "Jesuit tradition". 98% of the kids who are enrolled have no clue what the "Jesuit tradition" even is let alone St. Ignatius Loyola. Come on man. The Catholic church embarrasses itself at every turn. I don't even know or care about the "Jesuit tradition". You build your brand by hiring a good coach and winning games. Period.

Well you’ll have to wait in that for awhile. Uniforms will be easier to fix.

Looks to me as if the premier Jesuit schools in the country are hitting the Jesuit tradition pretty hard in their marketing and brand-building.

Georgetown University: Education for the heart and mind.

Marquette: A Catholic, Jesuit University.

https://www.marquette.edu/

Boston College: Grounded in the ideals that inspired our Jesuit founders.

Creighton: Leading academics and a common set of Jesuit values.
