Subject: Game #5 Analysis - Maryland

A 71 point loss to fall to 0-6. How does a D1 basketball team score just 37 points in an entire game. I have no words.

So they have lost 6 games by an average of 27 points. SIUE - who they lost to by 18 on a neutral court - lost tonight to Green Bay by 25.

Mid majors lose to power 5's by 30. Not 71!

Bad scheduling has got to have something to do with this mess of a team at this point. Basically all new team put on road for 5 of first 6 games with two payday games including having to play tonight at a big 10 school one day after two weekend back to back bad games. The type of team we saw play hard against bona was not on the court tonight. The coach said they were physically and emotionally drained which makes sense, who is at fault for that is certainly a question worth an answer. Lets see what team shows up Saturday against a good Brown team.

The more I think about tonights game the more I realize what a disaster the scheduling was ,again having this travel game at Maryland with one day in between from playing two away weekend games in Michigan , particularly knowing we would have a team with little or no early season identity , I would go so far was to say this coaching staff and administration should be apologizing to the team for putting them in tonights untenable situation!

I agree that the team must have been tired after the two games at Western Michigan, but last night's game was against a big time team, in front of a big crowd, and it appeared that our kids only capable of 37 pts just didn't come to play. This was truly disappointing. As a loyalist, it will be interesting to see how the team responds this Saturday vs Brown. Go Griffs!!!

Let's hope they have some grit & resilience. Disappointing for sure that they didn't put forth a better effort. You would think that these kids would have more endurance. Rest up Griffs & get us a win this weekend.
