At the Falls. Is he good enough? What about Cercone at Canisius?

I think Robinson could be down the road but he's a JUCO/Prep kid next year. Has had a long journey in getting back to the Falls from Florida. Ridiculously athletic and really gets up but also still very raw. Will be interesting to see him develop.

Cercone has received significant interest from Albany and Fairfield. Obviously the Griffs have inquired as well. I think he is a borderline MAAC player who certainly could get better over time. We will see.

Canisius High star, at Worchester Academy this year, from what I have seen has not committed anyplace yet. He would e a nice get for what I hope will be our new head coach.

There's a reason why. Not a D1 athlete.

How did you feel about Brian Dux?

Loved him. First saw Brian in Jamestown when he was in 8th grade and was OP's starting point. Not the explosive scorer Maceo Wofford was throughout his career but was a kid who was super skilled, much more athletic than he initially got credit for, and had a late growth spurt, resulting in why he was wildly under recruited. Also played second fiddle to Wofford in WNY although Mike Mac wanted to play them together. Wofford camp never bought in. Both had great careers - Dux better individually. Was an ultimate scoring point. How does this relate to Declan Ryan?

Another guy who no one thought was a D1 talent and got written off by almost everyone and who was lucky someone took a chance on him.

Maybe like the Ryan kid.

Half of the MAAC recruited Brian plus leagues below them - NEC, Patriot. Fairfield absolutely loved him. Probably schools in better conferences too.

Have you actually seen Ryan play? Great high school player. As evidenced by being the WNY player of the year. Big bodied kid. Legit 6'7"ish. Doing well at the prep level. From all accounts, an even better person. Super kid and that means an enormous amount to me.

But... I have seen him play three times. Talked to multiple people who all say the same thing - fairly skilled, good footwork, slow, slow, slow. Will be a good D2 kid. Please list his D1 offers. Better yet, his D1 interest. He is not a D1 player.

I had the conversation today at the Niagara game with a good friend of mine. People don't get what a big world it is. George Maslennikov would score 40 and get 20 rebounds a night in the Monsignor Martin League. Yes Ryan makes jump hooks against 6'3" kids in the post. Watch videos of him online and tell me with a straight face how he would possibly guard kids or even get a shot off against guys like Shema. If he was 6'11" then maybe. But he's not.
