Subject: Dayton's Adam Njie

The transfer from Iona was expected to be the Flyers first guard off the bench. Dayton announced tonight that he is facing "eligibility concerns" and will not be participating in athletic competition at this time. Njie had 26 and 14 points in the Gaels two games against the Griffs last year. A big loss for them if he is not able to play next Monday.

Dayton earlier this year lost highly touted freshman guard Jaron McKie to a season ending shoulder injury.

Sports Illustrated is now reporting that this is related to a gambling and performance manipulation probe by the NCAA while Njie was at Iona.

But Dayton destroyed Penn State in an exhibition game last week. They are still very talented.

Oh I agree. Not suggesting that this is in any way makes the Griffs anything better than a 20+ point underdog (sorry I couldn't resist the gambling reference) but every little bit helps.

Exactly. And say a few prayers to St. Peter Canisius that the underclassmen all stay around for their to be well earned CU degrees, as the present Senior Class earn in May.For the next incoming class do the same when you become Griff's.Keep getting stronger, Griffs. WBB Griffs too.
