Re: Fan Support -- GoldenGriff32, Wed, February 04 2026, 11:44:39
I still go to all the games but it's an obligation, not something I look forward to. The team stinks and nobody cares that I am a STH. Last year they gave 2 pre game Dinner tickets to STH holders. This year they couldn't even do that, basically a Fuck you,to us unless you donated a lot of money.Long time STH but it's become tough to want to go to the games since Baron left. By the way it looks like they throw most of the excess food out.I don't blame Coach Christian for the this team,I blame the Transfer Portal. I know I'm all over but I'm pissed about a lot.Last night was a disgrace.

Hey golden Griff 32. They are not giving you a big FU by not giving you a free pre game buffet. It’s only $15 bucks by the way and it’s just ok. Worth about $15 bucks. I hope they are throwing out the leftovers and not feeding it to the team. That would be bad. This is why you don’t give people free stuff because they think they deserve it forever . Don’t be so petty. FYI the transfer portal gives and takes . The NIL is the problem for poor folk like us.I'm a season ticket holder and I appreciate and care that you are a season ticket holder because without us there probably wouldn’t be a team. So if you want any hope of us ever getting better hold your head up and keep cheering and fighting to keep the team until we get lucky and get better. Somebody but this guy some food. Go Griffs!

Just so you know, I give my food ticket away to people who want to eat there. I don't eat there. It's the point that the administration doesn't care about the regular STH's unless you give them an extra few grand.

Call the marketing guy at 716-888-8482 if you want the full breakdown on costs, or go up to him at a game, or an event like Coaches Caravan. The Griffins' Den costs very real money and is not something that can be provided all the time.
As to not giving a crap about season ticket holders, that's not true. Anyone who asks for Griffins' Den vouchers, for NCAA ticket access, for time to play pick-up basketball on the court, time to have a youth basketball team or a performance group perform at a game, for better seats, extra tickets, extra giveaway items, access to talk online with a coach, autographs, discounts on merchandise, free tickets or merchandise for a charitable cause, an appearance by Petey or a coach or a player, flyers to stick up at an office, for some insider information, etc., it's rarely ever denied. The marketing guy is extremely accessible: 716-888-8482. Many season ticket holders call him and text him well after hours. The ticket office bends over backwards to help people.
You might say, "well, I shouldn't have to ask." The department pays to advertise on WGR (by the way, the Bills and Sabres just announced that they are bringing their broadcasts in-house instead of WGR just like Canisius did years ago). Canisius pays for ads on social media. They pay influencers. The department sends emails for relevant games. All the publicly available information about Canisius and their opponents for every sporting event is on GoGriffs.com. Information about promotions, opponents, games, parking, etc. is also available on Twitter/X, Instagram, and Facebook. It's all out there if people want it, and Canisius doesn't make it hard to find. It's all free. No donations or season tickets required.

Mike Kochczynski, is a super guy & very approachable. Send me an email, give him a call or talk to him at the games. He wants to provide a top fan / game day experience. Go Griffs!

Good assessment from Linwood Larry, pretty sure newest fans we have are probably now in their 40's or so as students pretty much absent for a long time frame it seems, certainly a concern that in near future all the old die hard fans are well, dying off with few if any replacements.
