Subject: Conferences for Mid Majors will change.

If you look at the A10 Bona & Davidson are the two smallest schools. Davidson’s endowment is a billion something. Yes, a billion. Bona’s endowment is less than ours.

It’s an arms race & it wouldn’t surprise me to see schools like us & Bona being forced to step up with regard to more of a commitment when it comes to facilities & NIL.

Bona could easily move into the MAAC & bottom dwellers like us & Niagara could be pushed out to a lower conference such as the NEC.

I don’t see us dropping to D2 or D3 but the MAAC is wanting to strengthen their conference. Merrimack has been a great add. LeMoyne joins the MAAC next year.

Stoute needs to put some money into facilities & NIL for our two basketball programs to be respectable.

The time is now or never.

Go Griffs!

Happy Monday morning everyone: How about some good CU news. The dumpster next to the Library has been removed so the $4MM facility for student services must be close to opening. At the end of the academic year in May, more academic improvements will be made in Old Main. This sort of things started last year. It is reasonable to think this is just the start to the $150MM fund raising drive said to be in the "silent' stage presently. Perhaps we will be hearing some ideas or news from THE POWERS THAT BE at CU regarding the athletics side. Perhaps some of us can start something if we do some organizing on our own. Remember the "Cage Club"? Beers at Cole's anyone?

As BG recalls the Golisano gift was $5MM. Don't know where the balance of that generosity might be used by CU.

Here's another bit of good news that goes beyond CU. There are presently several powerful entities working to "rein in" the current NIL landscape which has been described by many critics as the "Wild West" of unregulated recruiting inducements. Those include members of Congress. Stay Tuned.
