Hi,
I read the other messages here. I agree, I can’t beat Wal-Mart & other discount stores on price, but I haven’t done it on service either.
Is this stuff written for Anonymous & in other messages going to help others like me? There are a lot of blue-collar workers here. That’s seems to be Wal-Mart’s market. Wal-Marts & others sell work clothes even if they are different brands than I sell -- try to sell.
Workers here get paid alright wages, but they’re concerned about how long they’ll have their jobs. With these free trade agreements, it’d be nice if the companies would take the towns with them when they open factories in foreign countries. They’re almost doing that anyway. What’s a town without an economy? Whoever can afford to leave will. The others without enough money to move will still be here, but without jobs & money to spend.
I’ve got a lease for the store & racks & shelves will be useless except for holding dust.
I don’t want to stiff the landlord.
I feel almost guilty using a little of the money I get for myself.
The gal who works here is concerned too. If sales fall more, it’s obvious which one of us will be out of luck.
People know what I try to sell is better quality than Wally World, but if they’re not going to have their jobs for long, it doesn’t matter if their clothes wear out.
The typical advice I hear is to open a web site. But others in town have done. Many people click in then click out, without buying.
So, what can I do to beat Wally World, or at least, not let them beat me?
