Hi Merlin,

Thanks for the update. Guess GC is resting up (unless his villa is once again filled with family and friends, which seems often to be the case) until filming begins. Can't wait to see "Ocean's 13"-- I wish it were opening this year rather than next but, oh well. Patience, Lorraine.

In looking for back-issue info for GC, I've come across some old reviews of "Ocean's 12"--boy! the critics really disliked that one! Personally, I thought some of the criticism was very off-base. I quite like "Ocean's 12" though admittedly not as unreservedly as "Ocean's 11." (I'm still ambivalent about the whole Tess-Ocean-as-dead-ringer-for-Julia-Roberts plotline, as well as the Bruce Willis cameo--what do you think?) I do like that Soderbergh and company deliberately went for a different vibe and energy with the second film.

George is quoted as saying the first caper film had a very seventies look and feel and the second evoked more the sixties. When I watch them both--I've got "Ocean's 11" sitting in my DVD player and HBO has been showing "Ocean's 12" this weekend so I've been sort of flipping back and forth--I see exactly what he means.

Wonder what the next one will look and sound like?

Lorraine
