Hi Maria,

"LOL" is pc shorthand for "Laughing Out Loud"--when you want to convey to your reader that you're very amused, presumably by the online dialogue going on between you.

As language usage goes, PC shorthand is a relatively new development and most dictionaries don't recognize it, though I'm sure some enterprising soul will remedy that soon if it hasn't happened already.

So your husband says the Capture Verification stuff is here to stay, huh? Well, if he works with computers I guess he would know. It's a pain, though, don't you agree? To have to keep typing a code before you can send your message?

What's everyone else's take on this?
