Hi all,

Ah, Lana. I really enjoy reading your posts, you are so expressive. So where are you with your "ER" watching now? Did I understand you to say you've come to the point where Doug Ross has left? ("The Storm", episodes One and Two) I hate the scene where Doug and Carol say goodbye--it's wrenching because you know (and they know) they're meant to be together.

Of course if you keep watching, you'll discover it's not really over for those two...

And Angel, don't feel badly about not having watched "ER." I actually quite envy you, because when you finally do sit down to watch this amazing drama you're in for such a treat! This show became "appointment television" from the moment it debuted-- so called because audiences couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next and tuned in faithfully every single week.

And I know what you mean Lana, about your not being able to watch it at first ("Everyone rush somewhere, something quickly speak"--love that description) because it could be a little intimidating keeping track of everyone and everything until you got used to the rhythm and pace of the program. Back in 1994 that was part of its dazzling power, that don't-look-away-or-you'll-miss-something-that-will-make-your-jaw-drop rush.

And George was/is soooooooo wonderful in his sexy bad-boy pediatrician role--it made him a star for a very good reason. Not to knock Patrick Dempsey ("Grey's Anatomy") but George Clooney is the ORIGINAL "Dr. McDreamy." Oh, Angel--just sit back and let it all wash over you, honey. You too, Lana! Enjoy the ride, both of you! :-D

PS: Angel, how are you feeling? Still hanging in there? I hope you're doing okay; I worry about you.

PPS: Yes, Angel, you DO need to get yourself a DVD player! With the technology constantly evolving and improving and all the competition between brand manufacturers, the prices have come down and there are some good no-frills ones you can buy on the cheap, so do get one as soon as you can. Then start renting or buying those "ER" episodes; I'm sure Netflix or your local Blockbuster has all the available complete "ER" season packages (I think Season Five or Six is the latest release) where you'll enjoy not just all the episodes featuring George, but some great behinds-the-scenes extras and hilarious outtakes.

Also you may (or may not) have heard of "Ambush," the celebrated "live" episode of "ER" which opened Season 4 and was the idea of George and his co-star Anthony ("Dr. Mark Greene") Edwards. It was actually performed TWICE, once for the West Coast and once for the East Coast, and people who could taped both of the showings just to track the subtle differences with the performances and the interesting (and amusing) technical glitches here and there. It got a LOT of local news attention at the time and included as part of the Fourth Season DVD package's "Special Features" are behind-the-scenes goodies like "Anatomy Of An Ambush" and a fun "live post show" ("How The Cast and Crew Wound Down After 'Ambush' Aired"). I love stuff like that and you will, too.

Okay, I'm going to stop now because I've been talking up a storm here tonight-- my posts are all over the place-- and you're all going to get good and sick of me! ;-)

Later! Take care!
