Subject: A poem for the dead
when I heard, I became Silent, but Silence overcame me
so I began to Chatter, but the Chatter overcame others
so I begav to Remember, and as Memories overcame me
I began to see your Smile, and as you Smiled down on me,
I began to Cry. and as I cried I herad your voice
as I have through my life, and as your voice began to fade
I became Silent, and as the Silence rests in me
I begin anew.
I do not know where you've gone, or ig we'll meet again,
but I can feel your arms still, and I can hear your voice
I can see you smile at me
as you always did
and so you may have left this earth, still you are with me
I will carry you through my life, because Silence overcame me.
