    A Corridor For The Piggies

Corporate controlled media isn't anything new, but it's going to get worse.

We've got Clear Channel, who only has control of, like, nine percent of the media. And it appears that Nashville carries every nine percent of it's talk radio/news. Which, the news, of course, is considered "in-depth team coverage" that only seems to cover what Republican-Democrats want covered.

With the loosening of the FCC regulations on corporate controlled media, Clear Channel will be allowed to spread easily, reaching more states and cities. What I heard on C-Span, though, is that reporters who are wanting to do "real" stories are being held back by the corporations who own their station(s). You know, what serves the public is in the company's best interests, obviously.

With companies and corporations being able to spread more rapidly, you will soon start experiencing stories being omitted, slanted, or spun to suit their own needs.

The telecommunications act of, I believe, '96, allowed companies to own about thirty-five percent of the media. The bar will now be raised to forty-five percent.

One of the arguments to why this might be a good thing is that the local media will be able to stick around with piggies running the show. Since, you know, local media has to compete with the ever growing Cable industry.

    Fuck it, I say.

If corporations are running the show, I ain't watching the commercials.

Didn't think you could believe what was in the news now?

    Just wait.

If your town gets hit with anything that comes near to what is here in Tennessee, get ready.

It'll get worse before it gets better.

    - A Corridor for the Piggies -

Well, the judge is in the bedroom
    Dancing to the blues
While Nike's in the next room
    Buying up the news

Go from middle class to poor
    In just a single flash
Or suck the ass of aristocrats
    Maybe some day
    You'll own NBC

Almost no more free press patrol
    You'll say what you're told
    They - Hey!
    Have maintained clit control

You like fingers for the facts?
And no teeth for their agenda
It's safe if you don't have to choose
    No informed climax for you

    Bow down!
    To our mink coat information
    Everything else!
    Is just paranoid superstition
    This is only!
    A formal invitation

    To a ....
    ... Police state incarceration

    Deprive, deprive
    And supervise
    With superficial logic
    New York Times and FOX
    Have the same things
    In common

    Can't believe what I'm
    Reading now

    Can't believe what I'm
    Hearing now

    Now!!

    No!!!

    June second, 2003
Your station has been turned over
    To our company

    We've already got one
    Now we're allowed two
How long do you think it'll be
    Before we own three

    Oh, this is so sweet..

On 1510 a little kid says,
    "God Bless America"

    This land of the free
    Land of opportunity
    Corporate news
    Brings blind loyalty

    The thought managers
    Have found their audience
    Even if it's by force
