Wretched State (Janora, the hag)

Janora they call me,
name me hag.
Once, fair was I
as any lady
and no lack of those
to pay me court.
But, now? Aye, now,
I'm old, my bones creak,
and my eyes are dim.
Aye, my eyes be dim,
but not my ears!
And, I have heard
of royal plots and
royal ploys.
Be ware my royal duo,
there's plot and
counter-plot about,
and who knows who
will fall to poinard
or poison chalice?
I sleep but little,
notice much,
and in the shadows lurk.
Those dastard of
the royal blood
who would the royal
blod spill,
would do well to
mark the hinder trail,
for, Janora will be heard.
