Sir Dragzfuth is Rescued by Shane, Belamore and Ezella

I stood by the window in my private quarters
the room below was beginning to grow quiet
and I was paused there just listening to the silence
for a second before I resolved to go find that boy.
The hour was late and I wish he would stay home more
but lately he's been so active and into everything
probably because I'm always busy......
Darn.....those silly tears well up from time to time
but I refuse to let them surface.

MAMA! MAMA!
Shane rushes into the room all out of breath
"What is it Child what's happened?"
"It's Sir Dragzfuth!
He is wounded and lying on the street!
He sent me to find Belamore"
"Did you find Belamore?"
"Yes, he was just outside Mama
he is here most nights
'tis why I knew to look here first"

That's my Shane he knows the whereabouts
of the whole town at any given moment
I think sometimes.

Shane grabs my hand and tugs
with great force for one so small
"Come Mama they will bring him here
Belamore told me to have you
go fetch the good Doctor Goodman.
You must bring the doctor here...........
for Sir Dragzfuth could be killed back at the castle
and it's too far to take him to the ........
Mama?"

"I'm here I'm just ........
things are going too fast...."
I grab my cloak
and head for the door
leaving Shane there to
wait for the injured hero

The moon is full
what I'd give to have
a better cloak of darkness
but at least I have an entrance
onto a secluded alley
I run as fast as I can
and I don't stop until
I find myself in front
Dr. Goodman's door
pounding upon it
with as much force
as I can muster.

"I'm coming I'm coming
hold yer horses......
Why Ezella what brings you out
at this hour?
Be there another brawl at the tavern
someone laid low?"

"Laid low I fear but not from a tavern brawl I fear.
the Court is in upheaval.
The injured is Sir Dragzfuth
word has it that if he is returned to the castle
he will be killed."

The Good Doctor Goodman
is already gathering together implements
and doctor stuff.
I watch him thinking .........
how can this man be so calm
when everything is falling apart?
Yet before I finish the thought .........
"Well ...are ye coming lass?"
"Uh ..yes!"

"Then come along tarry ye no longer
we've work to do!"

When the Dr. and I arrive
through the ally door
I see Shane sitting beside the bed
upon which rests the injured hero
from the corner of my eye
I see a shadow slip
out the door
Quickly I turned to see
but catch only the slight
slam of the door
What?
"Twas Belamore"
says Shane in his matter of fact little boy way
my mind tries to make connections...
The Dr. Goodman is saying something....
" bandages and clean water...
"Yes right away......Dr."

I watch as the Dr. attends Sir Dragzfuth

"Is he hurt badly?"

"The wound is not so deep
this blood is not his own
no this lad has symptoms of poisoning"

"Poisoning?! "

"Aye, powerful poison apparently
the wound 'tis barely a scratch..."

"What do we do?"
My panic was beginning to rise again

"We wait"

"Wait?"

"Yes lass..tis all we can do....wait and prey."
