Hmmm.. valid question.
From my experience in talking to people, they are eager to hear from him again. Fans of Journey and people who came of age in the decade of the 80's will definitely welcome him back. As for anger, I don't sense any from the general public. We on the web and on the fan sites know what happened, but the general public has no idea. The problem will be to get his name out and about with the younger audience. Not sure that there are many 20 year olds who know who he, or Journey for that matter, is.
Over on the BT forum, most of the posters have stated they will buy and support Steve in a solo venture. There are, of course, some who won't. But it's my belief they are in the minority. But you have to remember those of us here on our computers and who post are not a good cross-section of the country.
Good music is good music and with a great record company, sufficient promo, and a tour to back it up, I think a comeback would be a resounding hit!
