Subject: Journey in Concert

I just wanted to express my view of the new Journey lineup w/o Steve Perry. My wife and I went to the Journey / Peter Frampton / John Waite concert at the Coors Amp. Theater in Chula Vista, CA.(San Diego) on Aug.18, 2001. The best way to sum up watching Journey w/o Steve Perry is like biting into an apple and then spitting it out. You get a taste of something good, but can't enjoy it because you know there's something missing. Of course that something missing is Steve Perry. The new singer Steve A. is good dancing around on stage and proably is a great guy, but he is no Steve Perry! When listening to SA try and sing the classics that Steve Perry made great, it churned my stomach. Steve Perry was, is, and will always be the heart, soul, and inspiration behind the Journey music!!! My wife and I also had the privledge to see Journey w/ Steve Perry in concert back in 1981 and it was by far the best concert ever!!! We watched VH1 BTM w/ Journey the other night and was saddened that there was a split between Journey and Steve Perry. We hope that maybe someday soon Steve Perry and Journey can make up there differences and get back together because their music is pure magic!!! We are both die-hard Steve Perry fans and wish him well on whatever he does.
