Hi, as most of you know I work at Starbucks as a part time Shift Supervisor (20 hours a week). I have just been working there for a month (just finished training). For the last 18 years I have been a manicurist and for 5 years I owned my own Salon. My husband who has been an architect for 25 years went to Beauty School 3 years ago to get a licence in Cosmetology. We have dreams in the future of opening up a full service salon, where he will do hair and I will do nails. We did work in the same salon last year but we never saw each other due to our different schedules.
My husband still works full time as an architect at a firm nearby, and does hair a few nights a week at home and I like to work when the kids are in school, so I can be with them when they get out. I have Fri. and Sat. off from Starbucks, so I work at home on Fridays taking my loyal nail clients who won't go anywhere else.( I have the best clients!) I took the job at Starbucks for 3 reasons 1. Full Benefits(for part time employ.). 2. Free Coffee! 3. Most of all, I like working with people and making them happy, and coffee makes them happy! And to top this all off we are foster parents! We had a sweet little boy, age 1 that we had for 6 months. He went to a couple who can't have children of their own in June. They will be Fost/Adopt parents. We will be getting our next placment(child) around when school starts. I have 2 children of my own, a daughter 12 1/2 who is going into Jr.High(gasp!) and a son who is 8 going into the 3rd grade. They too keep me busy with all the kid things they do! I used to sing at church with my husband who plays electric guitar and piano, but I had to give it up for now. Too busy! Hope I didn't put any of you to sleep! I am exhausted just re-reading this! Whew!
