For me, I think it has something to do with the fact that he was "the man" to me before any of this happened. I mean , I was 14 years old . Little did I know then that I would still be an even bigger fan at 36. He / Journey was with me during my teen years , through maturity and beyond. I have gone from a young girl thinking of the day when he and I would marry (come on I know you did too! ) , to an adult who totally respects and admires him , partially for being with me for so many years . His voice has mesmorized me for so many years, meeting him for that one moment and showing me that he is a great a person - as I always dreamed he would be. The words to his music that seem to come from the heart. The love that he has for his mother, his own trials and tribulations (loss of his mom, hip surgery, the band deciding to move on without him). The business side of all of this really does not matter to me. What matters to me most is what he has meant to me and done for me all of these years and he will continue to do that as long as his voice is out there. BELIEVE ME , nothing will ever make any of that go away , no matter what people say or think (negativily ) Nothing will wipe away the last 22 years I have spent with Steve Perry, with or without "Journey".
