Subject: Looking for a slick driver

Hello A Troop,
Hope all of you are doing well. I was thinking of one of the recovery missions I was on. I was with our tech sergeant, Templeton and a new 2nd Lt that had just come into our unit. We were rigging a loach that I believe Franklin got hit 9 times in. Don Owen flew him back in his slick. While we were working on the ship a fire came up through the valley. I smelled smoke but was so busy I didn't notice how close the fire was till one of our slick pilots almost landed on my shoulder trying to get my attention. He finally did and frantically pointed to the fire. Even then I got some singed arm hair but at least had time to Di Di out of the area. I never got to thank him for maybe saving our butts. Anyone remember that day at all and the pilot?
