I think your old enough because I went on pointe right after my 13th birthday and two other girls in my pointe class were 13. Actually one was 12 when she satrted. I think it more depends on your strength though. I broke mine in by doing releves. I also put water on the shoe where my big toes and little toes "merged" with the rest of my foot and went up on pointe. You should be fine. Hope I helped.
