Just the same, people walking around in (environmentally) in appropriate clothes for the sake of vanity.

Goths: big leather jackets in the heat of summer (especially this one)

Townie girls: wearing next to nothing with no coat, then going into hot club, coming out soaked in sweat making the effect of the cold weather even worse on them.

All because they're sacrificing comfort for appearances.
