Well thought out argument, I'll give you that, and it's a re-assuring change from your posts to me of late.

However I suggested a ban because of this: KillSwitches conduct on here is neither contributing any sort of discussion, neither is he entertaining people. That latter being evident by the responses he evokes.

You are right about chilling out, see my last post to you, I'm going in that direction myself.

As for a ban being a censorship of personality, I don't think so. He is simply spoiling the board for the rest of the users, I'd like to know how many people on here agree with you about the board being stagnent before he started? I don't think it was, it was a much more friendly place, with a mixture of serious discussion (with maturly presented difference of opinion, unlike recently), joking and friendly banter and teasing, but there was not anything that was of personal and derogatory nature posted. Whether you are talking face to face, talking on the phone or posting on an internet forum, you are just as responsible for your actions and conduct towards others, and a trouble causer is a trouble causer. It isn't as if what he does on here is serving some greater good, unless irritating the users of this forum is part of some grand scheme I have no knowledge of! Let me put it to you in another way; If you are holding a party, and someone there is upsetting your guests, and even after being told that person continues to do so, what do you do? Let that person continue to ruin your guests evening because you don't want to censor a personality? Is it not reasonable to ask and further to make that person to leave? This is completely analogous to what is going on here. Alternatively users of this forum (myself included) are possibly guilty to a limited extent because we let him provoke us in to telling him what we think of him. Whereas if everybody was diciplined enough to decilne from replying to such provocative and pointless comments, then there wouldn't be as much trouble. Clearly this cannot excuse him though, although it is a suggested course of action for the future which I shall start the ball roling with.

I am confident that I speak for everyone (but I'd like all concerned to qualify or disqualify this), when I say that we are sick of seeing threads on this forum that are personal arguments for the sake of nothing more than directionless argument.

As for the roots of the argument, my personal opinion is that he was far from tongue in cheek. I thought so when if first appeared, so I made a point of not engaging with him, until he replied to one of my posts, which again was far from tongue in cheek and beyond reasnoable argument. To be fair after that incident between he and I, he did appologise, but how many times can you get away with something and then just saying sorry, only to go and do the same thing to someone else?

D.
