Subject: Captain William Dutch (Tahchee)

My late father Jeff Davis Tahchee Cypert aka Chief Tahachee (Cherokee Actor/Author) March 4, 1904 / June 9, 1978, is a distant relative of Captain William Dutch aka Tahchee or Tah Chee. Tahchee was an Old Settler Cherokee and left Cherokee Country before "The Trail Where They Cried" he settled near the St. Francis and White Rivers in what is now Arkansas, these Cherokees are sometimes referred to as Arkansas Cherokees or Old Settler Cherokees. He was quite a warrior and there exists a painting of him in the National Archives I believe. Anyway, Tahchee is the way the Cherokee transliterated "Dutch" anotherwords Tahchee means "Dutch."
