The pictures on your post are truely sad. Those sharks, in my mind, should have been release. I can't see how someone can kill a small shark that has the potential of becoming 10+ long. I no the westies don't get these large sharks often, but sooner or later...you will...this year should be an example of it.

That is the same problem we are having here. We are having a problem with blacktips. As a fishermen, I have seen the numbers of them drop in the past 10 years. People are wanting to keep a 3'er for food...you know how old that size of a shark is....0 to 1 years of age. At birth, they are 26" to 36" long. The really sad part is that they only reproduce every 2 years when they reach maturity. Now if I caught a 6' blacktip shark at the same time someone else caught a 3', I would give them the 6'er if he would release the smaller one. Catching 2 sharks at one time is something rarely seen these days.
