I just wrap it around my back. I'm talking the heavy duty black rubber type like the EPDM's you can get at Home depot. I was trying to come up with a simple harness for 80lb class tackle. Something that I could use without a big deal. Most harnesses are just to complicated, I didn't like the idea of Having to strap something on. I just wrapped around a bungie cord and hooked it on the lugs of the reel. Works great when the rod pulls down it adds more support and pulls up when you pump the rod up. When Im not using it I just link the hooks in front and wear it like a belt. You've got to get the length right 31 inches works right for me. So I'd say a couple inches less than your waist size. Good luck K.T. on the Shark charter..

Tigtht lines Jim
