It was not a deep wound, merely a scratch. Once they were back in the herd, she could not see them. She moved forward. Deafening roars shake the earth as the ambles towards the herd. About 20 yards from them, she stops. The cub stays behind. Suddenly, he takes off for the woods. The female turns back then looks at the horses again. Her decision made, she gives on last charge at the equids to let them know to leave her be, then heads for her cub; he needed her protection. The harem was safe; for now.
