Reading that last half made me think of this song, and I'm going to pull a B.C. and post a YouTube video :P

Here's the story behind it and the lyrics:

Even though I haven't had this song very long (the album was released in July/August), there have been several times where I needed encouragement and listened to this song. I know it is cliché to say, but I knew this band before they were as famous as they are now. I found/met them a couple years after they started (actually, I knew their music earlier, but that is a long story) and I've been following and helping promote them ever since. When their last album came out and I counted how many songs of theirs I had in my iTunes and then how many of their T-shirts I owned, then saw the publicity they were getting, I was so proud of them!

I'm sorry, I hope I'm not taking away from your message. I wasn't thinking politically when I was reading it, but took it as more of an individual message to keep going for your dreams and not letting negativity from others, circumstance, or even your own self get in the way. It sounds like you did that and are at a better place now for it. Good job :)

You may have your soap box back now, I'm finished, lol! I hadn't checked here for a while and I'm glad I did; I'm happy to hear everything is going so well.

Hmm . . . I want to leave with an inspiring quote from the song and I'm having trouble deciding on one . . .

It's not the cough that carries you off
It's the coffin they carry you off in!

Hello and welcome back, Stewart! It's been great keeping up with the Garagiste Festival's progress (on the official website and via Facebook). It's inspiring to read about what you're doing and to watch things grow from just a little seedling of an idea to something that so many people have come to enjoy and are looking forward to again this year. I'm so very happy that you are doing well and that you are doing something that you feel so connected to.

And thank you for your words of encouragement to not listen to the people who truly don't support you or who only see part of who you are. I recently went through a very, very tough time with rejection. As the typical Type-A overachiever, it was a very painful learning experience and it was very difficult for me not to be exceedingly bitter towards The Powers That Be and those who were placed where *I felt* I was supposed to be. There were many lessons, at times grudgingly, learned throughout the whole ordeal. But in the end, I understood that it all happened for a reason and that perhaps my true passion lies in a different area of my life: teaching young children. So thank you very much. Your words are truly taken to heart.

I hope you'll continue to stop by here from time to time. I think I can speak for the entire board when I say that we've missed your posts. Best wishes to you!!
